A bond number can apply to one charge while another charge carries a separate hold. Jail staff can report the current Montgomery County booking status, but the clerk's bond order supplies the court's terms. A cash bond, surety amount, and no-bond entry do not mean the same thing.

Probable cause can support an arrest, while proof beyond a reasonable doubt is required for conviction. A Montgomery County booking entry shows that intake occurred and lists allegations presented to the jail. The court record shows whether charges were filed, amended, dismissed, resolved by plea, tried, or followed by judgment. Each record comes from a different holder.

Kentucky automatically expunges most qualifying dismissals with prejudice and acquittals entered on or after July 15, 2020 after 30 days, except traffic cases.
