Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it may be used, and the limited cases in which another party may receive it. By using Montgomery County Criminal History, you accept these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Montgomery County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email or direct message may be retained long enough to respond and manage the exchange. It remains within the team unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, servers can receive routine technical details about the visit:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The time of each page view
  • The pages viewed and the time spent on them
  • A referring site, when one is supplied

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic data, such as which pages are used most and where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, though doing so may change how some site features work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route a search request to the selected partner service
  • Maintain site availability and performance
  • Diagnose errors and other technical problems
  • Measure which content visitors use
  • Present advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Montgomery County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It identifies how to reach Montgomery County courts and law enforcement, Kentucky State Police, the Administrative Office of the Courts, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. No visitor data is assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy terms govern any information submitted through a tool, including retention and sharing choices beyond our control. Review the provider's policy before running a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Montgomery County offices, Kentucky courts, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's policy controls its data practices. Read those terms before providing personal details.

Advertising companies may use their systems to track activity across sites for targeted advertising. We do not operate that tracking.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. It may still be disclosed to a limited group:

  • Analytics providers measuring use and performance
  • Search partners receiving a query submitted to their tool
  • Advertising networks serving content on these pages
  • A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal demand

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, standard safeguards protect collected information. No internet system is completely secure, however, so the site cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from a person under 18. A reported minor's submission will be reviewed and deleted when identified.

Your Data Rights

Applicable law may provide additional rights. Kentucky's Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, and the criminal-record dissemination rules in KRS Chapter 17 govern official public bodies and records; they do not turn this private site into a government custodian. Visitors may still ask us to:

  • Provide a copy of personal data held about them
  • Correct personal data that is inaccurate
  • Delete personal data where the request applies
  • Honor an available opt-out from certain processing

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. A new version becomes available here with its updated effective date, so visitors should review it from time to time.
